Happy February!

Ok, sorry I haven’t written in a LONG LONG time.

School started on January 22, and ever since then, I’ve been nonstop: School, work, school, work. The madness never ends! Plus, all of my courses are upper division, which means they’re all concentrated on specific topics within the Child Development major. I have a lot of papers and projects to do this semester, as well as two presentations. It’s super, duper crazy.

Work isn’t crazy, and it’s still fun. I’ve only been working three days a week: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. And having to only work three days is really convenient for me because it allows me two days (Mondays and Wednesdays) to do homework. If I was to work all five days like last semester, I’d seriously not have enough time in a week!

So yea. What else. Oh. I don’t think I mentioned that on New Years Day, 2009, my boyfriend of almost five years dumped me. What a jerk, right? Whatever. haha Our relationship had been going downhill since OCTOBER of last year, and I guess I didn’t have the balls to end it officially, so he did it. I went through two weeks of no sleep and no eating. It sucked, and I lost hella weight. )= But then I realized that I had more better things to do with my life than sit around and be a crying little bitch. I moved on.

It’s been a month since he left. Fucker. haha I met someone new. We’re just doing this “dating” thing, so I’m still technically single. And this guy’s name is Paul, he’s Korean and he’s super super super cute. hahah He’s really nice, too. We went out yesterday on a group car drive to Santa Cruz and we ate lunch on the Wharf. Some of the guys, as well as Paul, posted pictures of the drive on their Honda S2KI forum, and you can view the pictures on the thread right here. And we’re the ones dressed in a white shirt/jeans (him) and a black tank top/jeans (me). The drive was actually a lot of fun. I’ve never ridden in a convertible before. It was like, really awesome. haha

Anyway. So it’s Super Bowl Sunday. Who are you rooting for? I don’t really watch football, so I’m probably going to clean my room and do laundry. lol Maybe go shopping. I’m not sure….

Without really thinking about it, I woke up yesterday morning and went for a drive down to Gilroy. And then I ended up at a tattoo parlor. And just spontaneously decided to get a tattoo. Because who really thinks hard about those right? Just kidding. Picked out an a Aries sign to slap on my wrist and voila, 45 minutes later had a tattoo. Didn’t hurt, and it wasn’t really that red. Just a bit puffy like it was an embossment. Haha.

Ack!

Haven’t blogged much. But there isn’t really anything to blog about lately! I’ve just been working and visiting family since I am still on winter break. So yaa!

Oh, one cool/exciting thing happened. Last Saturday, my parents bought me a “new” car! Actually it’s a used car, but “new” to me anyway! It’s a 2004 Ford Escape, in charcoal grey. My favorite car and my favorite car color. When I first started driving back in 2005, the Ford Escape was the car that I’ve always wanted, like my dream car. But over time, I really started looking into the little hatchback cars like VW Golf or Honda Fit, those kinds. They were cute to me. lol And originally, I wasn’t supposed to get a car until after I graduated in 2011. But since my brother crashed his car (an ’88 Honda Accord), I guess the plans have changed.

So last Saturday when I woke up, my dad called me out to the livingroom to check out the Ford Escape he found online, and located at a nearby dealership. I said, “Sure, we can check it out.” And we did just that. I didn’t think I’d get to drive off of the lot with the car that evening! So yes, I’m super excited and I really love the car. My old car, a ’98 Volvo S70, has been passed down to my brother. No doubt he’s going to “fix it up,” and put in a new sound system, tinted windows and suspension. haha

That’s pretty much all the exciting news. [= I start school on Thursday, January 22, and I’m excitedly counting down the days where I can finally be around my friends and be back on campus!

Spell Check, Please!

While leaving the local Walmart, we passed by the optometry place (its located inside Walmart), they had a table with stuff that was 50% off….. Cool! And you’ve just proven to me how stupid some of your employees are. [=

Back to Work!

I went back to work on Tuesday, after being on Christmas break for two weeks. I enjoyed my time off of work, but I really did miss being at the YMCA! I missed all the screaming, the dancing, and the “Miss Yanna, so-and-so did this to me!” [= Yes, I missed my kiddie drama!

I was greeted the same way I’m always greeted when I walk in through the door- A swarm of 16 or so kinders screaming, “Miss Yanna!” and heading my way. They all came so fast at me that I nearly topped over into a kinder dog pile. (This happens EVERY. DAY. when I walk in to work. I don’t know why; none of the other teachers get greetings like I do…) Anyway, since I missed all my kids so much, I gave them each a hug and sent them off playing. I said hi to my fellow teachers and you know, do what I usually do: Hang out and play games on the carpet with the kinders until the 1st through 5th graders came in from school! [=

The first day went well. It was actually the kids’ second day back from break. (If you remember on Monday, I went to go visit my boyfriend’s brother and sister-in-law.) They all seem settled back into the school groove. Which is great, it’s almost as if we never went on that Christmas break! Everything was like a smooth transition.

Besides work, I haven’t been up to much, actually. I don’t go back to school until the 22th, which is 2 weeks from now. Yes, I am going insane from not being in school! School and work together helps me balance my life out. Right now, with just work, I have the most screwed up sleeping schedule. lol. I go to bed around 4 or 5, sometimes 6 in the morning! And I usually don’t get up until about 12PM, because I need to get ready for work and be there by 1:30PM. But with school AND work together, I’m in bed much earlier, at about 12 midnight or 1AM. Plus, with this whole work-only-and-have-a-crappy-sleeping-schedule thing, I’m super unhealthy. Like, I’ve seriously started losing weight. And I only eat one meal a day, which is dinner. AHHH! I miss the days where I could eat and eat and eat and be satisfied! But now, because I’ve eaten so little, I think my stomach shrank and it can only fit so much food in there. Boo.

Sometimes it just sucks.

I leave you with a picture of my adorable little nephew playing with my T-Mobile G1. (This was taken with the Mac Photobooth.) I’m startin’ to trip out because this little fella is already going to be a YEAR OLD next month, February 26. What? It seems like yesterday I was filming his birth (watching a live birth and being like 2 feet away from the action is amazing, by the way. haha) and crying my little eyes out because my nephew is finally here. And now he’s about to be one? Damn, time flies. I kinda feel old. But I’m only like 20 years older than him. LOLphoto-5

Yay! Upgrades to the Macbook!

•January 5, 2009 • 2 Comments

I picked up my Macbook earlier today.

- They put in a 160 gig hard drive, versus a new 80 gig hard drive. When my dad ordered my laptop, he didn’t get the 160 gigs, he got 80 gigs put in.
- They replaced the entire keyboard. Before, the edges of my keyboard, like the plastic that goes around the keys and stuff, was cracking and there were literally like holes in my laptop.
- They upgraded my OS from Tiger to Leopard.

It’s kind of weird having Leopard, since I’ve been using Tiger since my dad ordered my laptop. But it’s a cool upgrade.

I’m updating from my boyfriend’s brother and sis-in-law’s house. I decided not to go into work today so I could come see them. I haven’t seen them since October! So yea, it’s been nice just chilling here. They’ve also let me stay for dinner because apparently there is a lot of traffic going back home and ehhh, I’m not really in the mood to sit in traffic, really.

Well, I guess that’s it for today.
